Business plans in Kiflo are collaborative goal-tracking documents you create with individual partners. They align you and your partners on shared targets — covering sales, marketing, and training objectives — and let both sides track progress in one place. Partners can log their own activities directly from their portal, while you maintain full visibility into how each partner is advancing toward the goals you set together.

Create a Business Plan

1

Go to Business Plans

From the main menu, navigate to the Business Plans page.
2

Add a New Business Plan

Click Add a new business plan.
3

Name the Business Plan

Give the business plan a clear, descriptive name — for example, “Acme Corp Q3 Growth Plan” or “FY2025 Reseller Partnership”.
4

Select the Partner

Choose the partner that this business plan applies to. Each business plan is associated with one partner.
5

Set the Start and End Date

Define the business plan’s time period by selecting a start date and an end date.
Business plan periods cannot overlap for the same partner. Only one business plan should be active at a time per partner.
6

Click Add

Click Add to create the plan. You are now ready to define objectives.
7

Define Sales Objectives

Click Add a sales objective and fill in:
  • Name — A short label for this objective
  • Description — What this objective covers
  • Objective type — Choose from options like number of leads submitted, deals generated, deals won, revenue generated, or number of new customers
  • Target value — The number you want the partner to reach during the plan period
Add as many sales objectives as needed. Kiflo automatically tracks progress on sales objectives using the real activity data from your partner.
Sales objectives are tracked automatically by Kiflo. For example, if you set a “Revenue generated” target, Kiflo will calculate progress from actual deal data — you do not need to update it manually.
8

Define Marketing and Training Objectives

Click Add a marketing objective or Add a training objective and fill in the same fields. For objective type, select Other (the current available option for these categories) and set a target value.
Unlike sales objectives, marketing and training objectives are not tracked automatically. You or the partner will need to log activities manually against these objectives to record progress.
9

Validate the Business Plan

Once you and your partner have agreed on the objectives, click Validate. The business plan status changes to Active.
Once a business plan is validated and set to Active, it cannot be edited. Review all objectives carefully before clicking Validate.

Manage Activities in a Business Plan

Activities are how progress gets recorded against your business plan objectives. Sales activities are created automatically. Marketing and training activities must be logged manually by you or your partner.
1

Open an Active Business Plan

Navigate to the partner’s page and click the Business Plans tab, or go directly to the Business Plans page and open the relevant plan.
2

Log an Activity

Click Activities, then click Log activity.
  • Select the related objective this activity counts toward
  • Choose the activity date
  • Add a comment describing the activity
  • Click Add
The objective’s progress value updates immediately to reflect the new activity.
3

Delete an Activity (If Needed)

If you logged an activity in error or need to remove it:
  • Click on the activity in the activities list
  • A Delete button appears — click it to remove the activity
The objective progress adjusts automatically.
Partners can also log marketing and training activities directly from their portal. You will see their logged activities reflected in the business plan alongside your own.

Monitor Business Plan Progress

1

Open the Partner's Page

Navigate to the Partners section and click on the specific partner whose business plan you want to review.
2

Click the Business Plans Tab

If the partner has an active business plan, the Business Plans tab appears on their page. Click it to open the progress view.
3

Review Objectives and Progress

You see all objectives grouped by category — sales, marketing, and training — with three key values for each:
  • Target value — The goal you set at the start
  • Current value — What has been achieved so far
  • Progress — How close the partner is to the target
Use this view to spot partners who are on track and proactively reach out to those who are falling behind.

Replicate a Business Plan Across Many Partners

If you manage a large partner network and want to apply the same business plan structure to multiple partners, Kiflo lets you replicate a business plan. This saves you from recreating objectives manually for every partner. Look for the replicate option on an existing business plan to copy its structure to additional partners.

Track MDF with Business Plans

You can use the marketing objectives in a business plan to track Market Development Funds (MDF) — the budget you allocate to partners for joint marketing activities. Create a marketing objective with the MDF budget as the target value, then log co-marketing activities against it to keep an accurate record of how funds are being used and what results they are producing.
Reviewing business plan progress on a regular cadence — for example, monthly check-ins — gives you the opportunity to adjust strategies with underperforming partners before the plan period ends rather than after.
