# Kiflo Rewards & Payouts: Overview and Full Workflow

> Learn how partner rewards accumulate, how payouts move from Draft to Paid, and how multi-currency and self-invoicing fit into the workflow.

Rewards are the commissions or incentives Kiflo generates automatically for your partners when they complete defined activities — submitting a lead, registering a deal, or closing a deal. As rewards accumulate, you group them into a **payout**: a single payment record tied to one partner and one currency that travels through a structured approval workflow before money changes hands.

## What is a reward?

A reward represents a single earning event for a partner. Kiflo generates rewards automatically based on the rules you configure in your partner programs. Common reward triggers include:

* **Lead submitted** — a partner submits a qualified lead.
* **Deal registered** — a partner registers a deal in the portal.
* **Deal closed / contract started** — a partner's deal reaches the closed-won stage.

Each reward has a status — **Pending**, **Accepted**, **Declined**, or **Paid** — that reflects where it sits in the payment process.

## What is a payout?

A payout is the aggregation of all earnings a partner needs to be paid. Every payout in Kiflo is:

* Tied to **one partner only**.
* Denominated in **one currency**.
* Created by a channel manager from the partner's accumulated rewards.

Because a payout is limited to a single currency, partners with rewards in multiple currencies will have separate payouts for each currency.

## The payout workflow

Every payout moves through four statuses from creation to completion:

  Draft payouts are **not visible** to partners. Payouts only become visible once they move to **Pending** status after you validate them.

    You create the payout from one or more of a partner's pending rewards. At this stage the payout is internal only. You review the rewards included and accept or decline individual items before moving forward.

  <Step title="Pending — Awaiting partner action">
    You validate the payout, optionally asking your partner to review the rewards and/or attach an invoice. The partner receives a notification and sees the payout in their portal. You wait for the partner to complete their actions.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Ready — Partner has validated">
    The partner has reviewed and accepted the payout. It is now ready for payment. You can export the payout in your preferred format and arrange the transfer.

  <Step title="Paid — Payment complete">
    After you process the payment, you mark the payout as **Paid**. All rewards included in the payout are automatically updated to **Paid** status, and the partner is informed.

## Multi-currency support

Kiflo supports paying partners in their local currency. When you enable multi-currency in your account settings, you can assign a specific currency to each partner. All leads, deals, and rewards for that partner are then denominated in their assigned currency.

To compare amounts across partners and currencies, Kiflo converts all values into your main account currency and displays them in additional columns throughout the admin portal.

  Each payout can only include rewards of the **same currency and the same reward type**. If a partner has rewards in multiple currencies or of multiple types, Kiflo creates separate payouts for each combination.

## Self-invoicing

If you operate as an EU-based company or simply want to remove the administrative burden from your partners, Kiflo's self-invoicing feature lets you generate invoices **on behalf of your partners** and attach them automatically to each payout when it reaches **Ready** status. Partners opt in through their portal and provide their billing details — no manual invoice uploads required.
