# How to edit an asset?

Update existing assets to keep your Assets library up-to-date. Here is how to do it.

## Edit Asset

* Go to the **Assets** page
* Move your cursor over the asset
* Click the **Edit** button

You can edit common properties:

* **Name:** Short name, visible to partners
* **Description:** Description of the asset for partners
* **Access permissions**: Restrict access to some partners only. Please refer to [How to define access on assets?](/partner-enablement/assets/define-access-on-assets.md)

### Update underlying file

For file-type assets, you can update the underlying file without having to delete the asset:

* Click the **Remove** button

* **Upload** a new file

Finally, click the **Update** button.
