# How to track MDF using business plans?

It is possible to track Marketing Development Funds allocated to partners using business plans. Kiflo allows you to define the allocated amount per partner and track expenses with their corresponding proofs.

## Create objective

* Open an existing *Draft* business plan or [create a new one](/manage-partners/business-plans/create-business-plan.md)
* Click on **Add marketing objective**
* Fill out the form like this:

## Configure objective

In this section, we will deep dive into each option.

**What kind of objective would you like to set to your partner?**

To track anything not automatically tracked by Kiflo (ex: MDF), select Other.

**Choose target value type**

Used to define the type of target value. In the case of MDF, toggle on the option because the target value is an amount expressed in currency.

**Allow partners to update attachment**

This allows partners to upload any file while manually logging the activity. This can be used to upload the proof of expense.

**Require partners to upload attachment**

This forces partners to upload a file while manually logging the activity. Toggle on the option to force partners to upload proof of expense.
