# How to write a note?

On Kiflo, it is possible to write notes, for example, to add additional information to a record, such as a partner or a deal. We will show you how to do this.

## Writing a note

Writing notes is easy. Follow these steps to get started:

* Go to the record you want to write notes about (**Partners, Leads, Deals, Customers, Payouts**)
* Go to **Notes**
* Click on **Add a new note**
* Once done, press **Add**

In the note, you can write some text, insert links and images. You can also format the text, such as highlighting, underlining, and changing the color of certain text.

You also have the option to attach files to notes if needed.

One last thing, you can also [mention people](/get-started/everyday-tools/mention.md) in notes.

## Notes visibility

Notes about Partners, and Customers will be visible to you and your team.

When you write notes relating to Leads, Deals, and Payouts, they can be shared with Partners. All you need to do is **toggle** the button, so this happens.

## Notes notifications

The partner will receive an email notification informing them that a new note has been created if it is visible to the partner. The partner will be able to access and comment on the note in the Partner Portal.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs-vnext.kiflo.com/get-started/everyday-tools/write-note.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
