# Workflow trigger: Metric changed

With Kiflo, you can rely on built-in metrics and use the *Metric changed* trigger to monitor partner progress and stay proactive. To break the 80/20 rules, use the *Metric changed* trigger, which can assist you with keeping an eye on everything related to partnerships and maintaining your partners active.

## Configure Metric changed trigger

The *Metric changed* trigger is used to monitor changes in metrics to trigger the workflow. Follow the steps below to create these triggers:

* Go to **Manage** and then **Workflows**, create a **New workflow,** **Name** it and click **Add**
* Open **Choose trigger** and choose the workflow to be triggered when the **Metric changed**
* Select the entity you want to list metric changes on
* Select a Metric name option, for example, **Submitted leads, Shared leads, Registered deals, Won deals, etc.**
* Select the period to detect the metric change, such as **Current month, Last month, Current quarter, Last quarter, etc.**
* Choose a **Condition**
* Click **Confirm**

## Common use cases

### Detect top-performing partners

The *Metric changed* trigger can assist in automatically detecting top-performing partners in a specific period.

Go to the Partner entity and select a **Metric name**, such as **Registered deals,** specify the period, and set a condition **like more than 3.**

If you expect your partners to register three deals in the last month, and they manage to surpass this goal in the previous month, the workflow will be executed.

The workflow can trigger actions, such as sending a congratulatory email to the top-performing partner.

### Detect low-performing partners

You can also use the *Metric changed* trigger to detect partners submitting insufficient leads in a specific period automatically.

On the Partner entity, select the metric **Submitted leads** and a period and set a condition like **is less than 2**.

If your partner has submitted less than two leads within the selected period, for example, last quarter, this workflow will be executed. In your workflow, you can send an automated email and ask your partner if they require assistance.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs-vnext.kiflo.com/automation/triggers/workflow-trigger-metric-changed.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
